During Week 2 of the 2017 Britain’s Got Talent auditions, 16-year-old singer-songwriter Reuben Gray enthralled spectators. Reuben, a native of Guildford, Surrey, had a love for music from an early age and had mastered the saxophone, guitar, and piano. After a brief split, he decided to play an original song called “Lifeline,” which is a sincere apology to his partner.

It was a moving moment when Reuben, who thought his father was away on business, found out that his father was in the audience. Reuben was profoundly affected by this surprise, which gave his act more nuance. ​
