The singer will also have to pay her ex-husband $115,000 a month in alimony until January 31, 2024. The kids will get $45,000 a month until they turn 18.
That may not seem like much, but when they first said they were getting a divorce, Blakcstock’s father sued the singer for a lot of money because he runs Starstruck Management Group, the talent agency Clarkson used to work for.
Clarkson has always had a way with words when writing songs, so it’s not a surprise that she can change a few words in a cover song to fit how she feels about her ex-husband taking half of her assets while they are getting a divorce.
The former American Idol winner recently covered Gayle’s breakup song “ABCDEFU” at her residency show in Las Vegas. She gave the chorus a sassy, curse-filled twist.
“I liked you once, but now I’m over it. I tried to be nice, but it doesn’t work. Let me say it again: A-B-C-D-E, F*ck you.”
A bird in the air sounds just right for the next part of the lyrics, which are aimed directly at Blackstock.
“F*ck you and your view from the valley I bought too. And your dad and the fact that you got half. And my broken heart turned that s*x into art.”
The chorus is sung again, and at the end of the song, she adds:
“F*ck off, everyone except your dogs.”
In those lyrics, at least the dogs weren’t thrown into the fire.
I mean, ouch…
I’d go out on a limb and say that Clarkson seems to be doing very well, even though her divorce was rough. Her shows are always sold out, her daytime TV show makes a lot of money, she’s a great Voice judge, and her vulnerable album Chemistry was a big hit.
Fans of Clarkson have been there for her the whole time, so a few mean lyrics here and there sound like a good way to relax.
